Managing AI Navigator chat history

AI Navigator chat history stores your previous conversations, allowing you to return to earlier questions, review insights, and continue working with existing context.

NOTE: Chat history is specific to AI Navigator. Other AI capabilities in the platform, such as the Knowledge Assistant, do not currently retain conversation history.

Start or continue a conversation

  1. Open AI Navigator either from the Homepage or from the Main menu. For detailed instructions, refer to AI Capabilities of BlueDolphin.

  2. Click New chat from the top left corner to start a new conversation.

  3. To continue a previous session, select a chat from the Recent chats or Pinned chats sections.

    NOTE: Previous answers are not updated when repository data changes. If your underlying architecture has changed since the last session, you should rerun the analysis to ensure accuracy.

  4. Review your earlier questions and responses in the main window.

  5. Type a follow-up question in the text box to continue the analysis.

Search for a conversation

You can quickly locate a specific session by filtering your history by title.

  1. Click the Search chats box at the top of the history panel.

  2. As you type, the list filters populate relevant results.

NOTE: Pressing Escape does not clear the search text.

Pin or unpin a conversation

Pinning makes a conversation easy to access.

  1. Hover over the conversation and click the three-dots menu .

  2. Select Pin chat to move the chat from Recent chats to Pinned chats.

  3. To return it to the standard list, click the three-dot menu and select Unpin chat.

Rename a conversation

You can change the default title to make the chat easier to identify.

  1. Click the three-dot menu next to the conversation title.

  2. Select Rename chat.

  3. Type a new title (e.g., "Application retirement impact analysis").

  4. Click Apply to confirm the change.

Deleting a conversation

  1. Locate the conversation you wish to remove in the Recent chats list.

  2. Hover over the chat you want to delete, then click on the right side.

  3. Click Delete

WARNING: Deleting a conversation is permanent. The session and all its associated context will be removed and cannot be recovered.

Limitations

  • No sharing: Chat histories are personal and cannot be shared with other users.
