Configure Single Sign-On (SSO) with Office 365 (OpenID)

To configure Single Sign-On (SSO) with Office 365, please follow the steps below using an Office 365 admin account:

  1. To initialize the configuration process, open a support ticket with the BlueDolphin support team and provide the following details:

    • Application ID

    • Federation metadata URL

    • Your BlueDolphin site URL

    • Domain name

    • A logo in .png format, or vector or high-resolution images without any whitespace around it, is recommended.
      (makes it easier to distinguish SSO from other types of authentication)

  2. Launch the Office 365 website.

  3. Go to Admin.

  4. Open Admin centers > Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory).

  5. Open App registrations.
    ​

  6. Click New registration.

  7. Insert the details for your new application.

    For Redirect URI (optional), replace SITENAME with the name of your BlueDolphin tenant.
    ​

  8. Click Register.

  9. Click Redirect URIs.

  10. Add the following Reply URLs:

    For EU tenants:

  11. Check ID tokens.

  12. Click Save.

  13. Go to Overview and look up the Application (client) ID for the App Registration.

  14. Determine your OpenID federation metadata URL. It should have the following structure:
    ​

  15. Copy this Application ID.

NOTE: Customers using internal mappings for usernames and emails (e.g., [email protected] and [email protected]) must send the unique_name claim with the value that will be used for login. Internal usernames like [email protected] will not work.
